About Us

Today pgg is a suite of companies offering holistic end-to-end arboriculture services. Thirty years ago, however, our journey began with one company, Austral Tree Services. Back then, Austral was quite a different business. We serviced our domestic and commercial clients all over Adelaide with simple tree care and stump removal. Over the years we gained a reputation for excellent customer service and industry-first safety practices.

All those years ago, the seeds of pgg were planted by Craig and Deb Hosking, a husband and wife who care about the environment and have their sights set on a better future. pgg has grown in leaps and bounds over the decades with Deb and Craig still proudly at the helm, steering the business forward with a focus on safety, integrity and innovation.

We are grateful and are humbled by the support of our dedicated staff and loyal customers, which has enabled us to succeed in business for the past three decades. We are committed to leveraging our resources and expertise towards making meaningful contributions to society and environment, and we look forward to continuing this journey with our valued partners. – pgg co-founder, Deb Hosking

Realising a need for end-to-end tree consulting and tree management, we started Project Green. Often the first step for everyone from schools to golf courses and local councils, Project Green’s team of arboriculture experts assist with analysis and reporting on tree health, safety risks and ongoing maintenance and care. We are also able to offer our clients in-depth reporting and analysis thanks to our world-first software platform, EDEN4. This software enables us to keep track of every tree, capturing essential data for our clients; from species to size, and most importantly, the care and maintenance needs of the tree.

At pgg we are driven by the need to balance our clients’ green asset management needs with our responsibility to the environment and our community. We are committed to balancing profit and purpose in every action we take.

At pgg we live and breathe trees, and we are committed to playing a leadership role in tackling the climate crisis. One of our companies becoming certified as a B Corp means we’re now also part of a passionate and thriving community of businesses led by people who are continually searching for ways to do business, better. – pgg co-founder, Craig Hosking

When trees do have to come down, our B-Corp certified initiative, Wood for Good, re-purposes the wood, selling it as firewood and other wood by-products, with all proceeds going to reputable charities. We also introduced our Indigenous Employment Program through which we provide jobs to members of our community who often struggle to find work. To ensure that our efforts are making a real difference we established the Hosking Foundation in 2010.

We are very proud of how far we have come, but caring for trees and mankind is still at the heart of everything we do.
